What does it power? There are sine wave invertors, which are much closer to what comes out of a wall socket but more complex, and square wave invertors, which are simple to make and can handle light bulbs just fine.

There have been a lot of queries about invertors on this site, this would be a good circuit for the cookbook when it is made.
