Rather than inverter techniques, try to familiarize yourself with efficient LED lighting techniques. It's still a steep learning curve, but you will get faster and further with that, than you will with the inverter techniques.
Think of it as a progression; the LEDs are low power and inexpensive; if you blast a number of them off the planet, you won't be heartbroken or out a lot of money.
If you blow up a fridge, that'll hurt. Best to start off cheap and small. Work your way up to the bigger stuff.
