I am trying to better understand the operation of 555 timers, specifically the potential usage of the reset pin in monostable operation. Would it be useful in this circuit, where I am attempting to using the output of the first timer (triggered by a rising edge of the input) to both trigger and inhibit the operation of the second?
The input signal is potentially random, held high for as many as 10 seconds, but my desired output of the 2nd timer is to illuminate the LED for only approximately 3-4 seconds. I've put in effectively random values for the timing components.
