interfacing barcode scanner with micro controller

HI......
I am dng a project in which i have to interface barcode scanner serially with microcontroller... I am using Atmel at89c51 ucontroller and kbwedge barcode scanner with ps/2 output....I dnt knw how to interface it.... I tried to use ps/2 to rs232 converter for data to be sent serially but it is not wrking.....

NO!! i am new with interfacing with either of them... if u can guide me with either one of them i'll be able to work on the othe one !
