i m a new member, wanna know how tri-state logic helps with an RS 485 multi-drop network..

 

Well in order for a signal to propagate along a network with multiple transmitters, all but one of those transmitters MUST be in a high impedance state. If two transmitters are on at the same time and they are signalling opposite states then the signals have a hard time getting through.
