Quite a newbie with electronics. Just wondering what the role of an inductor in parallel with two capacitors do for an Antenna in a circuit. Is it a filtering technique.
it makes a paralell resonant tuned circuit, if in series with an antenna, it would be a "trap" to either keep out a particular frequency, or to make the antenna work on another frequency bu placing a high impedance point in the antenna.
As well as providing filtering, it is also used to match impedance to provide maximum power transfer. e.g., matching the plate impedance of a high-power transmitting tube (several hundred Ohms) to a 50 Ohm antenna...
