#12 The point I was trying to make (badly) was that there seems to be a certain apathy amongst populations towards voting , well those that can vote , UK manage 60% turnout but the"winner" usually gets in by 1/3 of the votes cast .
I have voted for 52 years.
OMG! Are you saying it's your fault?
Just kidding.
Of course there is an apathy. The best part about choosing between Hillary and The Donald is that the American president is mostly a talking head on TV. No matter what they want, it will only happen if it serves the oligarchy. Right now, it seems to be perpetual war and the cash flow that war causes for the filthy rich.

#12,

Voter apathy is one way we get what we deserve. The quadrennial dance to must your forces to vote for president is the game. In the 1992 election, it's been said that those who voted for Perot guaranteed the Bill Clinton Administration. Then after the 2000 election, some states changed their election laws to apportion their electoral college according to the distribution of votes per candidate. How this plays out in the four candidate race will remain to be seen.

When the Bern was going to go it alone as an independent, the D party got worried and started reminding everyone that a vote for the third party is a vote for Trump.

We do indeed live in interesting times.

The mini-revolutions can happen every two years. Look what happened in 1994 ....
