    Hello all,

Last semester in school, I took an Intro to Analog and Digital Electronics course. I really enjoyed a further study into the physical applications of Digital Circuits, rather than simply understanding them on paper (being a Computer Science major, I have taken digital logic classes). I am coming up to my senior year of college, and it looks like I will have some free class time to fill, so I was thinking it would be interesting to delve deeper into digital circuitry, maybe design a small calculator or something like that to present as a final project.

I have been looking around for texts, kits, and other supplies I might need to make such a thing happen. I was wondering what all would be needed to complete a project like this, and any suggestions of text books, software, and tools would also be greatly appreciated.
