    Hi guys,

any idea how I would go about a "OWN" proximity(1meter) sensor??

like IT will only activate when I am near IT, sort of "OWN proximity" detector, will detect YOU if this circuit/device is with you(or anyone who carries it).. sort of an RFID.... you carry a passive device, and the detector carries the transmitter/detector.... I want something low cost... ideas??

Proximity? Or do you just want a contactless device?

A simple web cam can do proximity and identify you but not others. Since it's a visual device you would need a visible symbol of some sort.

For short range you can use a magnets.

    Hello,

    >>I dont want RFID...why? not sold here :)

I was hoping something similar, but much simpler and DIY... you carry a passive device and the detector will detect "YOU".... i dont know if there is such simpler approach..

    anyways, just wondering... :)
