Long story short. I'm a noob. I don't know much about circuits except for what I've figured out by tearing stuff apart. So, forgive me if my terminology is icorrect.

What I'm doing is: replacing my stock Acura navigation display with a tablet (in my car of course.)

The tablet has 3 buttons on it (power, Vol +, Vol -).

My goal is to reroute those buttons to existing buttons in my car. Because they will not longer be of any use without the stock LCD screen. This sound incredibly simple. However, The left side of the switch bank appears to use a common ground. And the right side and center button share another.

The tablet has 2 wires for each button.

So, if I can wire two of the buttons without a problem. But, the third button will be sharing a a ground and it basically operates both functions at the same time.

Would a diode fix this?

Here's a video of the buttons I have to work with, and the power button in action.
