Hi, I recently purchased a clone of the PICkit2, but (of course) it didn't come with any tutorials, so as a beginner with microchips, I have no idea what to do. They gave me this board with a ZIF connector and some pins labeled VCC, VCC, VPP, DAT, CLK, LOW, GND, and GND (in that order). Can someone tell me what to connect to what? (Datasheet: http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/devicedoc/41239A.pdf) Also, how do I create the hex file? Are there any simple tutorials online that would help me? Thanks for your help.

This site will help you alot, especially after you get a little more of a handle on things.

If you want to get that handle, googligum has GREAT beginner through advanced tutorials. They start at WHAT IS A MICROPROCESSOR. (A good place to start)
