    Heh guys,
Well I think I am missing something obvious here (as usual), but I could really use your help. I have uploaded a copy of page 48 in the pic16f690 datasheet for my question. It concerns "OSCCON" the Oscillator control register for the pic16f690. I understand everything except bits 1 and 2 of the register. Why in god's name would you not want the on chip oscillator stable?

Those are read-only bits to tell you when the oscillator is stable after power-up.

ok I understand. The bits are read only and give you the info. Thanks for your help. ;)
