From patting myself on the back. I just received the William Orr Technical Writing award from ARRL. This award is given once a year to the author of the best article of the previous year. William Orr was a mentor's mentor, and I am honored and humbled to be included in the Old Man of Radio ranks. :)

Just in case you were wondering where I've been, I've been working on two books and several articles at the same time. I plan on coming up for air soon. :)

PS: If you are in pain, take two aspirins and call me in the morning.

Can you link to it, or copyright prevent it?

Alas, ARRL holds the copyright, but I can send you the original manuscript if you like....minus a graphic or two. :)

Congrats on the award. Just be careful of dislocations. Too many of them may result in this..............

Since its inception (Hiram Percy Maxim) the ARRL has published some of the finest electronics information ever put to paper. Congratulations Eric, it's an exceptionally great honor!

This is good information for you to learn though. The ARRL is an historic organization and well worth reading about. ;)

And they were old when I was young. I remember some of their satillites they boosted using extra capacity in some rockets that were going up. That was neat. Some of those old guys are artists when it comes to electronics. The stories were published in the mag as I recall.
