Are you, or are you not? It is up to you to decide.
Convenient method is to use wires.
    A few centimeters.

you need to make a loose coupling transformer, feed it with an oscillator that's tuned to the transformers resonant frequency, and the same for the receiver coil...

It is not real easy. Here is a write up with good explanations:

To emphesize that phrase, There is also a growing list of companies that have either failed or lost huge amounts of money. The were on the verge or actually in bankruptcy.

    ECOtality
    SlashPower
    Light Squared

If I would spend some time looking, I am sure I could find a dozen or two more for that list.

There is another list that could be assembled of big companies that started investing in wireless power / wireless charging and stopped the attempt after losing big money.

    In other news...
CarCharging was very late in filing its last annual report (good sign?)

And ask him about radio interference and his favorite experience with the FCC.

Given how paranoid people are about the fields from a cell phone or from the power lines or from your electric blanket, just image what the reaction to anything like this is going to be.

    Hello,

It is like walking through a strong RF field.
Then a cell phone is peanuts.

There's a few conspiracy theorists think Tesla was bumped off by the money men because he appeared close to developing wireless power transmission.

a floating bulb and continuous wireless power supply.
Any idea from where to begin, I have done lot of work in LED drivers and
bulbs. so I can do that part.
