How we calculate the Amp. rating of On/off switch if our final load is 20A DC

    Request to confirm how we calculate the minimum amp. rating of on/off switch is required if our final load is as follow:
    Voltage 3.6V & Amp.18A.

    To switch 18 A DC requires a switch rated for at least 18 A DC. For good long-term reliability it should be rated for at least 30 A. 40 A is preferable.

    I realize that this is not the answer you want, but it is the answer to the question you asked.
