I'm trying to wire a 12 volt toggle switch, with a light built in. I want power to the switch at all times but only have the light come on when my ignition is off. This is in an offroad buggy that I put electric power steering in. I have a separate toggle switch to turn the power steering on and off but sometimes I forget to turn the switch off. So I'd like to have a light come on only when the ignition is off
    Thanks for any help.

Wire the light in series with the load and have the switch short out the bulb when the switch supplies the power.

You will have to post the internal wiring of the specific switch you want to use. Part number, picture, catalog page?
