how to turn on a power supply

    hi
    im currently learning to program ardunio and for my project im using a 5v regulated power supply, and id like to turn on/off this supply to everything using a momentary push switch, been searching for circuits to do this , cant really find one can someone point me in the right direction, ie what this type of circuit is called.

    try a latching pushbutton. push once, makes the circuit, push again, breaks the circuit. put it on the +5V going to the arduino.

    An electronic latch switch,this type of circuit is called bistable multivibrator in electronic or in digital electronic Flip-Flop circuit.Their are many flip-flop digital IC avaliable you can use them to built an electronic latch switch.
