How to make a IR proximity detector using Vishay TSOP312

    Hi everyone i would like to make an IR proximity detector which can detect upto 2-3 inches using an Vishay TSOP312 IR reciever. If anyone has ideas or circuits can help me out. Thx for ur help.:D

    Here's the datasheet. Take a stab at it and check back here when you have a specific question.

    Pick another device. That one is a receiver for an active IR source like a TV remote.

    You would want an emitter and a detector so your object reflects the emitter back to the detector; when the detector "sees" something you know it is close.
