I have a fair knowledge of dc to ac conversion.I want to know how involved is it to power a large deepcycle battery for ac power in my camper van.I have a 130amp alternator and am thinking of two 210watt solarpanels trying to charge this enormous 12 volt deepcell battery! How do I get the battery to switch from alt to solar cells when I turn off the van moter.will a solar controler work?A diagram would help.
    Thanks

Well, how many Watts do you require for AC power?

I presume that you have a blocking diode between solar panel and battery so that there is no need to disconnect panel when charging with alternator.

In other words, a simple diode, large enough to handle the solar panel amps, is all you need. One part. Nothing fancy at all.
