I'm looking at TRIAC dimmer circuit as this:

    http://www.southgatearc.org/techtips/lightdimmer.htm

There is a phase angle difference between the original AC waveform and the dimmer output.

If I have a microcontroller, I can detect this difference by sensing the zero crossing, and generate some output based on that.

But is it possible to make a digitized fixed frequency waveform with different duty cycle based on the TRAIC phase angle difference?

    Thanks in advance.

Does your micro have a PWM peripheral?
