Hi. I'm rather new to electronics so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I've bought this chassis connector: http://www.technobotsonline.com/dc-power-socket-hd-chassis-mounting-2.1mm.html

I can see that the side terminal will take a slide on crimp lug. The centre terminal is a strange sort of half round tiny "tube". How do I make the connection there is my question. Can the connecting wire be soldered to it? The description mentions nickle and I don't know if solder will bond to nickle.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Regards
    Rick

It looks like a miniature solder pot fitting, IOW you fill it full of solder with an iron then insert the tinned conductor.
    Max.
