    Q:For the figure below, what is the total capacity of bytes in data memory? How about in the register file?

    There is the picture.
    The answer happens to be "Data memory = 256 bytes, Register File = 8 bytes" but I don't know how they are getting this answer. Can anyone clear up memories for me?

    Since the width of the data bus is not given, much less the address bus, that information is not obvious from the illustration.

    Sorry. Both bus's are 8bits wide. The register file is an 8x16, the data memory is a 2^15x16, and instruction memory is a 2^15x16
