Hi all i have a 3.6v 10w led which has a life time of 50,000hrs

I'm going to run this direct on a 6v power supply.

Clearly i'm putting more power into the LED than i should but can any one give a rough idea how long the LED will last before it dies.

If i had to guess i'd say i might get between 3000 and 5000hrs of life.

if someone has a more specific duration i'd love to hear about it. thank you guys

That's usually not a smart thing to do, nor is ignoring the ratings of any other electronic component. Bad things almost always happen.

You have no basis whatsoever for making even a wild-assed guess about how long your LED will last. Nor would we.

I think "not very long" would about cover it.
