So I bought a hot glue gun off ebay, but the wall plug is for another country. So I opened it up to wire in a new one. I somehow managed to cut through a glass (diode?) component. So Im wondering if there is any way to figure out what to buy to replace it?

    Thanks

It is probably not a diode but a thermal cut-out switch.
You can lower the temperature of a hot glue gun by plugging it into a light dimmer.

Why did you open it up? All you had to do was replace the plug. The spec is 100v to 240V.
