Please could a member explain how a 28MHZ linear amplifier with a sound card/function generator in the input (producing 40 KHZ), be able to produce an amplified 40 KHZ ultrasonic wave at the output? How does the transducer see 40 KHZ, when the carrier is around 28 MHZ, and the carrier does not appear to get demodulated? Does the crystal inside the transducer demodulate the carrier, and recover the amplified 40KHZ signal from the linear amplifier. I would be very grateful for a reply. Maybe the linear amplifier has a bandwidth of 28MHz but it is only amplifying a 40KHZ signal.
