A second high impedance/none-bonded earth ground can cause extensive damage during a lightning strike. The GPR between the two can cause a massive energy spike to be sent into your house wiring. With single-point grounding the entire electrical system will rise and fall at the same potential.I understand this, what I don't understand is the not using more than one ground rod. Why is a second ground rod now outlawed?
