I'm a pre graduate student from Greece and i am working on a project where I need to be able to implement a high voltage switch using series of scrs in order to use it in high voltage applications(for example Marx generators in order to replace spark gaps)

i found a pattent #7072196 which seems to be ideal for my project but unfortunately i cant simulate it in multisim and i cant import new models of scrs in the program..
I've tried to design the circuit also in spice but it was warning me about the transformer that its probes were floating(also i dont really know this program..:()

    Can anyone help me please?

GE SCR Manual, 1972, pg 437, offers a solution to high V switching by using " Series Connection of SCR's Triggered by Light" A xenon flash lamp fires light activated SCR thru fibre optic cables, triggering hi V SCR's connected in series.

It's pretty easy to use pulse transformers to trigger the SCRs on. All you need is to put a decent pulse energy into their gate.
