high pass filter

I read somewhere that the coupling and bypass capacitors play an important role in the transistor acting as a high pass filter…how ?

Not sure about the bypass caps, but any coupling capacitor automatically makes the circuit block DC, so the response will favor AC, especially as the frequency goes up (also affected by the size of the capacitor and the resistance it's working into.

You may find that Google can lead you to articles on active filters.

The transistor circuit you have in mind may be different from the one I am thinking of. It is always nice to have a schematic to discuss, as it insures both parties are speaking of the same thing.
