help with ups

    can anyone tell me if i can change a ups of 600VA to a ips(inverter) which will serve to operate some fans or lights for 2hrs at least? i want to know if i can change the small 12V 7Ah batery to a big one can it serve me that way?

    Hi, depending on the ups you can extend the leads and connect them to any size battery of the same voltage as the usp battery. I have done this with a UPS with a 6V battery and hooked the leads to a group of 6V RV batteries. Then the 1000 VA UPS ran for 10 hours instead of 30 minutes. This is commonly done for phone systems. If using multiple batteries, install a fuse between the positive connections of the ups to first battery, fuse between first and second battery. The batteries are all in parallel.
