    Hello,

Can you make a scharp photo of the component ?
That also shows the shape and an idea of its size.

    Greetings,
    Bertus

I have read that you found it in an inverter so I think it is a MOSFET used for switching. They use special thyristors (called GTO's-gate turn off) for switching too but MOS are more usual. Take a photo of the inverter to see where the device was connected. Also, try to see what othe devices were connected to it.

Can you identify the control part (controls the device you took out) of the circuit?
    If yes, what is it?
Are there any resistors from the output of the controller to the broken device? What value?

From the part number we can't get anything useful. To find what it is you have to see the connections around it and so on.
