Attached is the datasheet for the NJM2035 stereo encoder. I found several schematics like the one below:

    http://www.next.gr/audio/Stereo-Circuits/HI-FI-Stereo-Encoder-Multiplexer-l5705.html

And I built it, but there is a pinging like tone that can be heard. I do beleive that the 38Khz crystal I have is not authentic and I do not have anymore, just the one. I already found a kinda reputible place (not from China eBay store) that I can buy them from. My question is I want to build the circuit from the datasheet but need the 5mH and variable 20mH inductors. Where can I find those at? I have looked into multiple places online and cannot what I am looking for. I did find some but they are rather big and the 20mH that I did find is not variable. Thanks for the help.

Well is it oscillating at 38kHz?

Nope, I took a look at it and noticed no markings. Took a better light and a magnifing glass and noticed that the markings were rubbed off and hard to read. Looks as if it was a 50 something Khz crystal. I just want to know where to get the inductors. I already know the crystal is bad.
