Hi, I am looking to install two strobe type amber beacons on one of our work vehicles and would like some advice on what rating of fuse to use. I intend to wire the two strobes in series, operated by a switch with a permanant feed from the 12v battery protected by a in line fuse. I am told by the supplier the strobes draw 2 amps each making a total draw of 4 amps. What rating of fuse will i require? Thanks in advance.

 

It sounds like 5 amp 32 volt should do. It might be a bit marginal, as the spec is a bit shaky and the circuit could draw more than 2 amps while charging, making the 2 amp spec an average rather than real figure.

Put in a 5 amp fuse and see if it holds for a few minutes. If not, go up in capacity to either 7 or even 10.
