Can anyone please help to identify this part?

(I have also taken a snap of a schematic diagram of a different CPB. The components are not the same size, but they are both protection components in a communication circuit. I thought it might help)

I have tried the google route with no luck.
RS components do a diode with an order code starting with 636, that keeps coming up .......but not the item I'm after.

    Hello,

Perhaps the attached datasheet might interest you.

    Cheers Burtus.
That is defiantly the sort of thing I am after, but there are 47 different types on that data sheet and none of them are coded 636.

I just noticed that there is no package info on that sheet. Its getting close to "guess" o/clock :)

There's one there with a "Reverse Stand Off Voltage of 7.5V. I'd go for that one?

Did you find the component? I have a similar component. Do you know the manufacturer?
