Help question about Multiplexer

    Anyone know how to make use of a 74LS151 to make it count up and count down?
    Not quite sure about how to make it run cause i dont quite understand what is in the MUX! D: Help please!

    Not sure if that's the standard way of doing it.

    I used 3x 74151 and a 74163 binary counter to design the MUX up/down counter. The "Y" outputs are counting up while the "/Y" outputs are counting down.

    Are there more elegant ways?

    If you want to using 5V to be the power source, then you can choose 74HC151 and 74HC163.
    I would rather to use CD4051 and CD4029, they just need a small current, and the voltage range is bigger as 3~15V.
