    Hi,
here is my dilemma: I want to install HID bulbs in my car but the day time running lights can't be disabled. The HIDs don't work at the 8V the DRLs provide. What I need: a simple circuit that will have 0V output when the input is 8V and 12V output when the input is 12V. My limited knowledge tells me this is a Schmitt trigger but I am not sure.
    Any help deeply appreciated!

    Two problems.

    1) A subject title of "Help please!" is of no help to us. Always use a title that describes the topic.

    2) Modifications to automobiles are prohibited on this forum. A moderator will come along and close this thread.

If HID refers to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-intensity_discharge_lamp,
this thread is a violation of the AAC forum rules, Chapter 6, on automotive modifications, as seen here:

Therefore, this thread will be closed.
