So we are seniors in Mechanical Engineering that need to design a ping pong machine. We were thinking of using just one wheel to propel the ball at about 14 mph, is there any equation anyone knows to find what RPM our motor should turn the wheel at? We know it'll have some spin on it that we'll need to take account for.

What exactly is a ping pong machine?
Anyway, if you are senior in mechanical engineering, you should easily be able to calculate what rpm you need with a wheel of certain diameter to get the ball propelled at 14mph, if that is what I think you want.

Well yes, ping pong is also called table tennis. According to The Internet it looks like that this ping pong machine could actually be a ball-throwing machine suited for table tennis sized balls.
