    Hi all,
I have seen a lot of pull down resistors used in the electronic circuits. In most of the switching circuits this pull down resistor will be present across the base and emitter of the transistor to pull down the base signal. I could not understand the use of that resistor. Is that something related to impedence ? Please help me

    Thanks and regards,
    Anoop

This resistor is referred to as the base-return resistor. It aids in pulling current from the base when the transistor is turned off.
