My problem: I have a two way radio. sometimes its really quite and other times its really loud.
What I want to do: make a device that plugs in between the radio and the headset.(output limiter)

I have little knowledge about the names of all these connectors, but I do know enough to make this work if only I could figure out how to get both the female and male 2-pin connections.

Please if you could just tell me what connectors I need it would be greatly appreciated.

Also I look to see if something is wrong with the unit cause the volume shouldn't change like that...

 

volume change is caused by tone of the one speaking or the mic that is being used. one guy likes to yell into the radio.

audio potentiometer for volume control..

 

I can't find any extension leads or re-wireable plugs or sockets in this format.

Can you not just break into the existing lead?
