    hello...
i want to measure voltage using PIC 16f877a and interface with pc using max232 through labview 8.6..for measuring the voltage, i want to use ADC in the PIC 16F877a. the problem is, i don't know how to interface to pc using max 232 and is serial port D-sub 9 can be used?....is labview can read the signal send from max 232 or need to add something?....

The MAX232 is a rs232 level converter. So by using a PIC uC and the MAX232. You should in theory be able to do RS232 communication with a PC. I suggest you Google the term null modem.
Then you can draw up a simple schematics, so we can check your plan out

i'm has finished draw the schematic..just simple schematic...
however, when i try to simulate using proteus 7.1,the error has come out..
the error is regarding with the dsub 9....it says that "no model is specified for J1" which is the dsub 9...do you what causing this error?...i don't put any program yet in the PIC...this the schematic....

Ask yourself where the MAX232 supposed to get power from.

    Hmm?

Then maybe you can figure out why Proteus is complaining about your DB9 connector having no properties.

On the bright side, "help is needed...." is in the running for the "Most Useless Thread Title" award of the month.
