Experimentally how can i calculate my work frequency with microwave radiation?

I'm working with a microwave generator in the band (8-12 GHz). How is, experimentally, I know the frequency of radiation used? What should I do? What do I have to calculate?

 

Do you have access to a spectrum analyzer, as well as some other GHz related parts, like detectors and such???

If not, what tools are you given to try to solve the problem????
