Please help me with our assignment...

    Resistor value is 1k

    please look at the image...

Determine the Voltage in D1, D2, and Vx.

    thanks a lot!

What is the total voltage with the forward conduction drop of a diode figured in? And then what is the current through the resistor?

Which diode, D1 or D2, do you, the OP think is conducting?

What is the Vf (forward conduction drop) of the diodes assuming they both were Si or Ge?

What is the voltage across R1 and the current through R1?

Where is the common point for the Vx measurement?

Those are the questions you should consider when solving this problem.

Then you need to learn some basic electronics.
Maybe your teacher can explain it to you.

Understanding how the diode works will make this question very easy. See http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_3/chpt_3/1.html (the basics you need are in that article).

If you think people are giving you a hard time that is because we are here to help you understand electronics not to spoon-feed answers to you. What you put in yourself you will certainly get out of it.
