Help adding solenoid to tyco/nikko rc car

I have a bunch of parts and i want to make a solenoid on one of the cars i got. dont care if its on the main control system for the car or seperate.

battery for car is 9.6v and for controller is 9v.

would like to push a wireless button on remote to activate the solenoid.
it would be easier i think to add it as a seperate function from the onboard control system. Im not sure if its possible to add to the current cicuitry. doubtfull.
