Heavy duty PWM DC motor controller help

If its a DC motor then use an ordinary light dimmer with the bridge rectifier like i posted, and it will work.

If its an AC motor use the dimmer only.

dimmer on AC side and motor on DC side? doesn't work, I mean I got the motor to run without blowing fuses, but turning the knob didn't change speed, the motor just turned real quickly and sparks coming from the co
commutator made me put the idea away

i dont think you put the bridge in series with the dimmer, bet you wired it up wrong., try it with a light bulb first,then the motor.

i tried it with the IRFP250, while it didnt blow up, the IRFP started getting pretty warm, ~50c on the temp gun, but turning the pot didnt do anything either, going to try again with another IRFP250 just in case that one was bad.

What if you just take pictures of what u doing, if you didn´t fix that allready cause you probbably misunderstanding the guidance, all this chatt makes everything more dark for you.
