hi, this me again need your valuable aids. Im just inquiring if you can help me answering the following unanswered question:

it is observed that when the squirrel cage induction motot rotates without load the reactive power exceeds the active power, what does this reveal?

Im looking forward to hearing from you

    thank you all

:D   :)

If I'm being honest I don't know the answer to your question as I have never really looked at Squirrel Cage Induction Motors. I posted you a link on your original question I take it that didn't help?

The answer is it relates to an aluminium cage that is in the stator (central rotating part)
This is used as part of a magnetic field that is used to follow the field produced in the windings of the motor. This relates to an AC motor only as the feild in a dc motor is set by coils and current.

I wonder if OP will get an email notification, and come back 9 years after posting this question and say "FINALLY! all good answers are worth waiting for!"

Unfortunately the belated answer has an obvious error - did you spot it?

Is it that the stator is the stationary part of the motor?

I think he was guessing at that one.

The original question sounds like a lab, where certain conditions are established, then realized. Smells like homework.
