If anyone has any suggestions on where I can find 2 of them I sure would appreciate it !

These are for a DRO (Digital Readout) for a milling machine. The ones I have work but the silver reflective back strip is deteriorated and they're in rough shape.

How much is it worth to have a replacement? Prototype LCD displays can be fabricated in China for about $600 for 5 pcs., plus shipping.

Edit: then you can mass produce them -- about 50 to 75 cents for the glass alone. The pins are extra (IIRC, about 5 cents per pin. I haven't used pins in a long time).

 

Not worth much to me, I was hoping for about $5 each plus shpg. I can buy a whole new DRO for only about $250...

But, the one I have works but really hard to see the digits. I considered cleaning them up and putting electroluminescent backlight strips to replace the silver tape that is deteriorated.

I had searched ebay and kept finding the 2x16 and 4x16 units, which I have and have used for several projects including the one shown below. (the 2x16 in the upper left)

I just ordered 2 from your link, all the dimension specs are correct so hopefully they'll work.
