My Hakko 939 is busted up and really getting tired of looking at it because I can never find a cheap case to fit it or even look nice .. But I have spent some money making the iron making OEM as possible.. So I decided to build a Hakko 936.. I found the schematic online with pcb design and all the information I needed .. My plan was to build this with origional hakko 936 schmeatic but use a 24v Toroidal transformer instead and build in a heater on led or anything else someone has come up with that I can use ... Sow whats your thoughts ???

Also how do company's say they have a 60w or 70w station but heating element is only 50w ???

Because they consider what power is drawn from the wall instead of what is heated at the tip. Transformer losses and indicator lights are all wattages too.

    The other possibility, marketing.
