It looks like that is 4 wires. Maybe 1 GND, one +V, and 2 Signal wires coming back...

That's what I thought, since it does have those 2 coils setup at a 90 degree angle from each other, I figured they were trying to detect the wire when in front, and wire on the side, so you could theoretically detect a "corner", so next question is going to be, do they put out a logic signal when a wire is detected, or is it analog? But I am sure that answer will come once you get the "wire" and the control box up and running.

 

Ok, this thread is not dead yet, I am just waiting for the power supply. I'll get it tomorrow... So maybe I post some as-is test results... In order to make clear where I am and where I want it to go. (this little project)

I'm anxious! Please let us know! (Can you tell us what the chips are on the "wire detector" pcb's?)
