Hi,
Can some one guide me in making and electromagnetic pick-up probe. I have made one in a very crude way. I just took one small ferrite bobin and wound arroung 1000turns of thin Copper wire and terminated it with a BNC connector and fed it to the Digital oscilloscope. it is picking up noise from television yoke and switching powersupply etc. But I wanted some more info about what sort of shape should i use, how could i calibrate it etc. Can some one help me out.

please have a look in this link for a clarification. H field probe.

Thanks in advance

hi,

i don't know if this is a crazy idea, how about shaping your coil in a conical form. i have seen this things in RF detection system. there was a guy who had described this but i can't remember where i read that. -_- :)

you mean a conical shape where the sharp part will come perpendicular to the emited rays? how about the winding and the number of turns.
