Hi - a technical question re an electric guitar's passive tone circuit:

    If I series connect
    - a 250k resistor to a .015mfd cap
    - another 250k resistor to a .033mfd cap

Then connect them both in parallel across the guitar output, is that the equivalent of a 250k resistor + .047mfd cap?

Then if I replaced one of the 250k resistors with a pot of the same value what would happen if I turned down the pot? Would one circuit affect the other or can they be considered separate circuits?

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm new to all this ...

    Thanks in advance

No. Just use one 250K resistor and the two caps connected in parallel.
