    Hello!
Can you guys suggest a low cost, easy to use GSM modem to be used with a PIC microcontroller. Of course it depends on the PIC I am using but since I haven't decided on it yet can anybody suggest me some manufacturers of reliable GSM modems.
If there's anyone who has done this before please post the model you used.

    Thanx in advance!

Look for one with a conventional serial port interface (as opposed to a PCI module etc).

    Example:
    http://www.comtechm2m.com/embedded-modem/embedded-modem-gsm-gprs.htm

Your PIC code then only needs to work with a serial port and you can easily monitor / debug it using another serial teminal (or terminal emulator).

There are many types, both board modules and ready boxed. As long as it's serial comms & AT command set you should be OK.

Multi Tech products are sold online only in US:(

Besides they are way to expensive $400???

I'm looking for something around $100. Isn't there anyone who has used one in their projects?

    Hi

No I have not used one yet but was just looking to get one for a circuit I am designing.
I have attached copies if the AT command set and Integration guide for your information.
